Immigrants are employed to a smaller extent than the rest of the population in Norway. Over the past decade, however, the difference between these two groups decreased. In 2009, 65.2 percent of immigrants and 79.4 percent of the rest of the Norwegian population took part of the workforce. As of 2019, the employment rate among immigrants had increased to 67.1 percent, while the employment rate among the rest of the population had declined to 78.5 percent.
