In Norway, male immigrants are employed to a higher extent than female immigrants. Over the past decade, however, the gender gap reduced. In 2009, 60.5 percent of females with an immigrant background were employed in the Scandinavian country, compared to 69.7 percent of their male counterparts. As of 2019, the employment rate among females reached a peak of 63 percent, while the employment rate among males amounted to 71 percent.
