Smartphone food delivery apps, such as Grubhub and Uber Eats, allow users to order food online and have it delivered to their door. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020, many restaurants in the United States were not able to offer indoor dining, which led to an increase in users of smartphone food delivery apps. From 2019 to 2020, these food delivery apps saw a 25.2 percent increase in the amount of users.
