Primary energy production in Algeria 2018-2021, by energy source
In 2021, Algeria produced 6.66 quadrillion British thermal units (BTUs) of primary energy. The production increased compared to the previous year, when it stood at 5.97 BTUs. Natural gas was the leading primary energy source in the country, accounting for 3.83 BTUs in 2021. Petroleum and other liquids also occupied a significant part of energy production.
