Volume of rice production in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam 2018-2022
In the production period of 2020/2021, the production volume of rice in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam reached around 24.8 million metric tons. In the 2018/2019 period, there were 25.2 million metric tons of rice produced in the same region. Due to drought and salinity intrusion, the volume of rice produced in the Mekong Delta decreased slightly in the 2019/2020 crop year. Consisting of 12 provinces, the Mekong Delta is the most critical area for rice production in Vietnam.
