Most of the economically active population in Mexico is made up of employed people. In the first quarter of 2022, a total of 58.01 million residents in Mexico were considered economically active. More than 95 percent of them, around 56.08 million, carried out some kind of remunerated economic activity and were therefore considered fully or partly employed. The quantity of people who were either unemployed or searching for a job neared two million that same quarter, the lowest amount since the first quarter of 2020.
