Breakdown of Elite athletes in France 2020-2021, by gender
In the 2020-2021 season, women represented a minority of athletes participating in high level competitions with less than 40 percent.
This rate is roughly equivalent to the feminization rate of sports federations in France. Indeed, out of the thirty or so single-sport Olympic federations registered by the Ministry of Sport in France, women represented 32 percent of the members in 2019.
