The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, also known as March Madness, is an annual knockout tournament between the best college basketball teams in the United States. Some fans fill out a so-called bracket in order to predict the ultimate winner of the tournament. These brackets can be filled out for fun among friends, or more competitively to win money or prizes offered by various betting companies and organizations. However, there are some reservations about the ability to bet on the outcome of amateur matches which feature student athletes, such as in NCAA tournaments like March Madness. During a March 2021 survey, around 36 percent of respondents stated that sports betting should not be allowed on any NCAA tournaments featuring student athletes.
