Change in unemployment rates in the times of COVID-19 in Australia 2020
The unemployment rate increased by 1.8 percent between March 2020 and May 2020 in Australia. The underemployment rate increased by 4.3 percent in the same period, whereas the participation rate decreased by 3.3 percent. From May 2020 to October 2020, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.1 percent, the underemployment rate decreased by 2.7 percent and the participation rate increased by 3.2 percent.
