
Female unemployment rate in Africa 2021, by country
As of 2021, the female unemployment rate varied significantly across African countries. Djibouti registered the highest rate, with almost 40 percent of the women in the labor force being unemployed. South Africa and Sudan followed: there, female unemployment reached around 36 percent and 32 percent, respectively. On the other hand, women without a job accounted for only 0.37 percent of the female labor force in Niger.
