Patient safety issues due to cyber security incidents in healthcare in the U.S. 2021
In 2021, 32 percent of healthcare organizations that had experienced a significant cyber security incident impacting patient safety reported it had disrupted systems and devices, impacting business operations. Furthermore, 26 percent reported disruption of systems and devices impacting IT operations. Meanwhile, 44 percent of respondents shared that they experienced no or negligible impact.
