Global platinum mine production 2021, by region
In 2021, Africa was the world's largest platinum-producing region, with a total output of some 156.3 metric tons. South Africa accounted for the majority of the continent's production. Europe was the second-largest platinum mining region worldwide that year, with a distant 21.4 metric tons produced.
