Confirmed malaria cases in Africa 2020, by country
Africa is the region most affected by malaria in the world. Over 165.9 million cases of the disease were reported in the continent in 2020. From a country perspective, the Democratic Republic of the Congo registered the highest number of cases, some 24.9 million, followed by Nigeria, with 21.6 million cases. Overall, the total number of reported deaths due to the disease in Africa was around 76.7 thousand as of 2020.
