SNCF's annual revenue 2022

The annual revenue generated by the Société des Chemins de fer Français (SNCF) varied substantially over the past decade. After reaching its highest turnover in 2019, amounting to more than 35 billion euros, the SNCF underwent a drastic decrease in 2020, achieving annual revenue of fewer than 30 billion euros. This change was a direct consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting travel restrictions to stop the spread of the virus. Revenue began climbing again in 2021 and outpaced pre-pandemic revenue by 2022.

* In 2014, SNCF changed its legal status in application of the law of August 4, 2014. The new SNCF group now comprises three ÉPICs (Établissement Public Industriel et Commercial): SNCF Réseau, SNCF Mobilités and a head structure called ÉPIC SNCF. As part of the application of this law, the activities to be transferred have been presented on a separate line in the income statement and have not been included in the revenues of the SNCF group. As a result, 2014 revenue does not include SNCF Infra's activities.
