Sports expenditure in India FY 2022, by type

In financial year 2022, the Indian government spent over 17 billion Indian rupees on sports. Of this, the largest chunk went towards the national program for developing sports, called Khelo India. That same year, about 7.4 billion rupees, on the other hand, was spent on sports institutions including the Sports Authority of India and Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education.
