Global growth in dry powder 2022 vs 5-year average, by fund type
In 2022, venture capital dry powder had grown by 105 percent compared to its 5-year average. This was followed by direct lending, which grew by 97 percent. The third place ranking is completed by growth funding, which grew by 57 percent. Dry powder reached a two decade high in 2021, which means that there is a large volume of private uncalled capital globally.
