Hospital equipment in use in Chile 2022, by type
In 2022, the installed base of anesthesia machines in Chilean hospitals was estimated at 1,054 units. C-arms and laparoscopic equipment, tools used during surgery along with anesthesia machines, had an installed base of 154 and 418 units, respectively. In 2020, the South American country made use of 1,161 operating rooms, less than those of more populated Latin American countries such as Brazil and Mexico, but also fewer than the Dominican Republic. That year, Chile ranked sixth among nations with the largest amount of operating rooms in the region.
