The United States won the most medals at the Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo in 2021 but, since each country has different payment bonuses set up for its athletes who achieve a medal at the Olympics, Italy was actually the country to have paid out the most in bonuses, with a total of 9.07 million U.S. dollars.
