According to the fifth version of the budget announced in December 2020 by the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG), the total revenue from the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics was expected to be approximately 721 billion Japanese yen. Local sponsorship was identified as the main source of the revenue at 350 billion Japanese yen, followed by ticket sales at 90 billion Japanese yen.
