As of January 2022, Seven Eleven was the leading convenience store (konbini) operator in Japan, with more than 21 thousand stores counted throughout the country. The three market leaders Seven Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson were involved in the operation of the majority of konbini through direct and franchise chains.
