Value added by mining in Mozambique's GDP 2010-2020
As of 2020, the mining and quarrying industry added some 40.3 billion Mozambican meticais (around 631.4 million U.S. dollars) to Mozambique's Gross Domestic Product. The value added by mining to the GDP decreased by some 15 percent in comparison to the previous year. However, compared to 2010, the industry's contribution to Mozambique's economy strongly grew. That year, mining added nearly 11 billion meticais (169 million U.S. dollars) to the Mozambican GDP.
