Export value of coal from Mozambique 2016-2020
Coal exports from Mozambique strongly decreased in 2020. The export value declined to roughly 650 million U.S. dollars, down from 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in the previous year. A contraction in the export volume due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, associated with a fall in coal prices, led to the reduction in the value of exports. During the period in review, coal exports reached a peak of nearly 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2018.
