In 2022, an estimated 23 percent of people with health problems in Colombia did not request or receive medical attention due to supply barriers such as long waiting times or poor services, among other reasons. This represents a decrease of around five percentage points compared to the previous year, when the figure amounted to 28.2 percent. That year, nearly 95 percent of citizens in the South American country were part of the local General Health Social Security System.
