Share of youth with regular internet usage in Africa 2018, by employment status
Nearly 60 percent of waged employees aged 15-29 years in Africa used the internet regularly as of 2018. This was higher in comparison to self-employed youths, whose regular usage of the internet reached 16 percent. Moreover, 43 percent of unemployed youths used the internet often. Overall, in 2020, Africa accounted for over 11 percent of the total internet users worldwide.
