Internet penetration rate in Africa 2023, by region
As of January 2023, Southern Africa was the region with the highest internet penetration rate in Africa, at around 70 percent. The share of people using the internet in this area of Africa was even above the world average (64.4 percent). In contrast, Middle and Eastern Africa recorded the lowest rates: 27.9 percent and 23.1 percent, respectively.
