Value of green bonds issued in selected countries worldwide 2021
During 2021, the United States issued the higest amount of green bonds worldwide. Green bonds issued in the U.S. amounted to 81.9 billion U.S. dollars. Second in the ranking came China with 68.1 billion U.S. dollars worth of green bonds issued. Germany was the first European country in the list, having issued 63.2 billion U.S. dollars of green bonds in 2021.
