
Copyright royalties distributed from streaming services in Brazil 2017-2021, by type
In 2021, the Central Bureau for Collection and Distribution (abbreviated in Portuguese as Ecad) distributed 78.6 million Brazilian reals in copyright royalties from video streaming services. This amount is almost 240 percent higher than the 23.2 million reals collected in 2017. In the music streaming segment, the value went from 12.3 million reals in 2017 to 58.5 million reals in 2021 – an increase of over 375 percent over four years.
