Production volume of electronics Thailand 2022, by product

As of February 2022, the production volume of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) in Thailand amounted to around 30.5 million units. In that same month, the production capacity of PCBA in the country was over 58 million units. Most of the electrical and electronics products manufactured in Thailand were for export, as seen in the share of electrical and electronics products exports as of the fourth quarter of 2021.

Electronics manufacturing in Thailand

Thailand attracts foreign manufacturers for electronics due to its location in the center of the Asia Pacific region, low cost of labor, and government promotion for foreign investments. In 2019, Thailand ranked 13th as the largest manufacturing hub for electronics globally. As of February 2022, the production capacity of electronics products in terms of volume in Thailand was the highest for integrated circuits, amounting to over three billion pieces.

Electronics for exporting

In 2020, the United States was the leading destination for Thailand’s electronics exports, with an export value share of 27.6 percent. This was followed by Hong Kong at 15.3 percent. In that same year, hard disk drives were exported the most among all the electronics products manufactured in Thailand. The export value of HDDs accounted for almost 30 percent of total electronics exports.
