Forestry companies with timber plantation rights in Indonesia 2022, by province
In 2022, there were 48 forestry companies with timber plantation rights (Hak Pengusahaan Hutan Tanaman or HPHT) in Riau, Indonesia. Most of timber plantation rights (HPHT) holders are on Sumatra and Kalimantan Islands. In Indonesia, there is a distinction made between timber concessions whose primary purpose is to harvest natural forests and those whose goal is to establish timber and pulp plantations. HPHT holders are focusing on establishing timber plantations.
