Flooding risk index in Africa 2022, by country
According to the source's index, the Republic of Congo presented the highest risk of flooding among all countries in Africa as of 2022. Egypt, Nigeria, and Sudan followed, each with an index score equal to or above eight points. Based on the estimated number of people exposed to floods per year, the index attributed each country punctuation between 0-10, from lower to higher risk. Most African countries scored above 4.1 points, indicating an increased exposure to flooding.
