Paper and paperboard production in the UK 2010-2021, by type
Case materials were the most produced paper and paperboard type in the United Kingdom in 2021, with an output of 1.34 million metric tons. Case materials production increased 16 percent between 2010 and 2021. In comparison, newsprint production decreased by more than 50 percent during this period, reaching a low of 543 thousand metric tons in the latter year. Newsprint was the most produced paper product in the UK in 2010, but increased digitization over the past decade has seen this paper type fall out of favor.
