Frequency of heavy alcohol consumption among adults in select countries as of 2020

In 2020, around 38 percent of adult women and men in the United Kingdom reported they had four or more (women) or five or more (men) alcoholic drinks on at least one occasion monthly in the past year, while in the United States only around 22 percent of adults reported the same. This statistic illustrates the share of women who had four or more or men who had five or more alcoholic drinks on one occasion at least monthly in the past year in 2020.
