Share of insurance customers willing to share data 2022-2023, by country
In 2023, China and India had the highest share of consumers willing to automatically share information about their behavior with their insurer in exchange for better rates, at 25 and 24 percent of respondents, respectively. Switzerland was the European country where consumers were most open to this practice. Open insurance refers to the sharing of large volumes of structured data within a digital ecosystem, in order to spur the development of new and innovative insurance options to be made available for consumers.
