Monthly change in employment in Mexico 2020-2022
In April 2020, the Mexican labor market took the hardest hit from the COVID-19 pandemic. That month, nearly 12.7 million jobs were lost in the North American country. The labor market slowly recovered in the following months, with June 2020 registering the largest job creation since the outbreak of the pandemic: the number of employed persons grew in 4.73 million that month. In August 2022, the latest data available, approximately 177,130 new jobs were created.
