Selling price of malware and DDOS attacks on the darknet 2022
Among a wide range of illegal products for sale on the dark web, some of the most notable are hackers' services in attempting malware or denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks, which can cause large-scale online traffic disruptions and website outages. A June 2022 study found that a premium-quality malware attack could sell for up to 5,500 U.S. dollars per 1,000 installs on dark marketplaces or vendors. In turn, a DDOS attack on an unprotected website lasting for a month had an average price of 850 U.S. dollars.
