In 2021, the European Union's solar market had employed a total of 465,595 full-time equivalents (FTEs), including both direct and indirect jobs. The deployment segment had the largest workforce that year, at over 367 thousand FTEs. This was followed by the manufacturing segment, but by a wide margin, with employment figures amounting to nearly 44.2 thousand FTEs in 2021.
