As of 2022, Cape Town International Airport processed approximately 5.96 million domestic passenger arrivals and departures. This was a significant increase compared to 2020, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Domestic tourism significantly increased in 2022 compared to 2021, but has not yet reached pre-pandemic levels. In the first half year of 2023, there was a domestic passenger volume growth of nine percent compared to the same period in 2022.
