Tanzania: import of services 2019-2021 by category

In 2021, the import of services in Tanzania was valued at nearly 1.3 billion U.S. dollars. Service payments declined from 1.6 billion U.S. dollars in the previous year. As of the same period, travel payments strongly decreased from 633.4 million U.S. dollars to 135.6 million U.S. dollars. The drop was associated to effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which resulted in the suspension of international flights worldwide. Moreover, travel receipts in Tanzania also dropped in 2021.
