Greenhouse gas emissions in Canada are projected to be 40 percent below 2005 levels by 2030 under Canada's Emissions Reduction Plan. This would see GHG emissions in Canada drop to approximately 440 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e). The sector with the largest percentage reduction would be the electricity sector, at 88 percent.
