Dairy was the second most consumed food group, at a share of more than 17 percent. Vegetables are recommended to be the second most consumed food group, at a share of 23 percent, and the Portuguese diet was made up of only 14 percent of them.
The Portuguese diet had almost 17 percent of meat, fish, and eggs, while it is recommended only five percent of this food group per day.
