In Portugal, the intake of any alcoholic beverage among people of 18 years of age presented a prevalence, in 2022, of almost 88 percent for lifelong consumption. In the last 12 months, 85 percent of respondents had consumed alcohol, and, in the last 30 days, 68 percent had done so.
In terms of gender comparison, alcohol consumption was more prevalent among women, even though the difference was not considerable.
