In 2018, the 62-year-old French men whose retirement years were likely to be the most numerous were those in intermediate professions (21.5 years), and executives (21.3 years). Among women of the same age, it was those in intermediate professions (25.4 years) and employees (24.9 years). In fact, the distribution of life expectancy years by occupation status varies according to professional category. As workers have a lower life expectancy than executives, they tend to spend less time in retirement.
