Israel: Share of foreign workers in the country by nationality

In 2022, nearly a quarter of all registered foreign workers in Israel were citizens of Thailand. This was closely followed by foreign workers from the Philippines at 21 percent. The smallest nationality groups in the report were foreign workers from Nepal and Romania, at two and one percent, respectively.

The source mentioned that the estimate of the population of foreign workers is based on the processing of a file of foreign citizens received from the Population Authority. The data are presented from 2003 onwards, since there was no significant change in the estimate of foreigners who entered Israel on work visas in the years 1995-2002.

The data represent only foreign workers who entered the country between 2003 and 2022 and haven't yet left. Foreign workers in the report are those who have a work permit before entry. The report mentions a total of 136,000 foreign workers during the period.
