Clean power capacity shares in countries with cleanest grids worldwide 2023
As of July 2023, hydropower dominated the electricity grids of the countries with the cleanest power generating capacity worldwide. The Latin American country of Paraguay lead the ranking, with 100 percent of its power capacity installed in hydropower plants. The Asian countries of Bhutan and Nepal, the African countries of Lesotho, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo were also among the countries with the cleanest grids worldwide as of that time. By comparison, the countries with the dirtiest power grids worldwide were Turkmenistan, Kuwait, and Libya.
