France: cost of car ownership for sub-compact cars 2022

Compared to battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and petrol sub-compact car owners, diesel vehicle owners in 2022 had the highest average total cost of ownership in France. While owning a sub-compact diesel car cost average of 774 euros in 2022, BEV ownership cost below 700 euros.
The average cost of car ownership for subcompact cars in France was different to the one recorded in Germany and the United Kingdom in the same period. While the cost of driving a BEV sup-compact car was the highest in Germany and the United Kingdom, it was the cheapest in France.
