The total value of artificial intelligence (AI) spending in Europe was estimated at 34.2 billion U.S. dollars. The value of investments varied greatly across industries, with the banking sector accounting for the largest value of all investments. The banking sector's spending on AI-centric systems was approximately 5.37 billion U.S. dollars. It was followed by professional services, with a spending value of 3.83 billion U.S. dollars. Banking was also the leading industry in terms of spending on a global scale in 2023.
