Germany: vehicle ownership change by vehicle type 2022-2023
In 2023, around six million passenger cars changed owners in Germany. This was the segment with the largest volume of such changes, in parts, due to the popularity of the used car market. In contrast, only around 458,400 used motorcycles were transferred to new owners in that same year.
Trucks and passenger cars were the only vehicle segments to have recorded an increase in ownership transfers between 2022 and 2023.
