Zinc recycling from new scrap in the U.S. 2005-2015 This statistic shows the volume of zinc recycled from new scrap in the United States between 2005 and 2015. In 2015, around 173,000 metric tons of zinc were recycled from new scrap in the United States. Figures refer to scrap that results from the manufacturing process, including metal and alloy production. New scrap of zinc excludes home scrap, which is scrap generated and recycled in the metal producing plant.
