Revenue of Huawei 2009-2019
Background of Huawei
Huawei is a Chinese multinational technology company, which mainly produces telecommunication services and equipment, with smartphones being one of the companies most popular products sold worldwide. The headquarters is located in Shenzhen, the major technological advancement hub in China. In the last few years, Huawei has shifted its business focus from carrier network to technological innovations. Since this change, Huawei has earned almost 350 billion yuan, compared to almost 300 billion yuan from the carrier network business. With this transition, both the revenue and the net profit of Huawei surged in the same period, increasing three-fold, though China is still the primary market; generating half of Huawei’s revenue.
Huawei in the world
Nowadays, Huawei’s brand recognition has been enhanced so much that most people in the world are aware of them. This has been aided by the introduction of Huawei’s smartphones to various key markets in the rest of the world. In the first quarter of 2012, Huawei’s smartphone shipments accounted for around three percent globally, and after just a couple of years, the company’s market share has reached over 17 percent. Huawei’s global shipments have doubled in the past three years, from slightly over 107 million units in 2015 to 200 million units in 2018.
