The value of public residential construction spending in the United States has risen significantly from 2002 to 2021. In 2021, the public sector spent over nine billion US dollars on residential construction projects, which was a slight decrease in comparison to 2020. The biggest increase happened in 2020, when the public residential spending reached 9.19 billion U.S. dollars, a much higher figure than the 6.89 billion U.S. dollars of the previous year.
